Getting a sharp photo under 100 KB
- Start from the original camera photo, not a screenshot or a WhatsApp forward. Forwarded images are already compressed and lose more detail.
- Use a plain, light background. Busy backgrounds use far more bytes than a face does.
- Set the width and height your form asks for. A passport-style photo at 3.5 × 4.5 cm and 200 DPI is about 276 × 354 pixels, which fits well under 100 KB.
- Check the preview before you download. If faces look blotchy, crop closer rather than lowering the size further.
